Shades of Purple is an Authorized American Heart Association Training Site

 

 

This course is designed to train individuals that are in the Healthcare Field or pursing a job in Healthcare. The training covers emergency recognition of adult, child, and infant rescue techniques. AED (Automatic External Defibrilator), one and two rescue training, choking adult, child, and infant. Rescue breathing techniques with the pocket mask, and Bag Valve Mask. A skill assessment and written test are provided.

 The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA. 

 

 

Each student must complete online portion Part 1 with the KeyCode Provided by the American Heart Association. After sucessful completion of the online portion a student can register for the skills checkoff. During the skills checkoff each student will complete the hands-on portion demonstrating 1 & 2 resucer adult CPR, using a pocketmask and bag value mask, AED, and infant 1 & 2 rescurer. 

 Please note each student must email or bring a printed copy of the AHA Course Completion Certificate showing that you have completed Part 1 Online in order to complete Part 2 (Practice), and Part 3 (Skill Evaluation). This course is designed for any professional outside of the healthcare field. Individuals will learn adult, child, and infant CPR and Hands-Only CPR. During this course the individuals will learn numerous breathing techniques beginning with mouth-to-mouth and pocketmask, choking, and AED (Automatic External Defibrilator) use. Followed by a skills assessment.

If you need Firstaide also complete the online portion prior to class, we will only conduct the skills check-off:

    After sucessfully completing and passing each skill the student will receive Heart Saver CPR, AED, Firstaide certification.

    This Course provides OSHA requirements for training, describes what BloodBorne Pathogens are and how they are spread, protection against exposure, how to clean, and report a exposure. Outlines what equipment you wear and the proper way to apply and remove equipment.

     

    After successful completion of the class each student will receive a certificate of completion.

    This course provides knowledge and training on how to draw blood using a number of techniques. Providing education on anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and tube recognization, sterile technique, bloodborne pathogen, and professionalism. Hands on & Clinical Training will be provided as well.

    This fast paced course will cover the basic phlebotomy techniques. Each student will learn the anatomy & physicology, pre-analytical complications, venipuncture & capillary blood draw, order of draw, and much more.

    There is a non-refundable $100.00 fee to reserve a seat. Your remaining balance of $450.00 is due on the first day of class.  

    If you are unable to attend the original workshop you signed up for, you can reschedule one time for another class. If you no-show a second time, you will be required to pay another registration fee.

    All students will learn the basics of IV Therapy.

    • Each student will learn basic anatomy of the vein
    • Describe and demonstrate the proper techniques and documentation for inserting and removing a peripheral IV or heparin lock
    • Discuss common complications of IV, and their associated signs and symptoms.

    STUDENTS WILL PERFORM IV STICKS ON EACH OTHER AFTER YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY MASTERED THE SKILLS!!!!!

     Certified Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled healthcare practitioner who is competent in both clinical and adminstrative procedures. The students will learn:

    • Interview patients
    • Measure & record vital signs
    • Prepare exam rooms
    • Clean & sterilize medical equipment
    • Administer injections, as well as topical or oral medications
    • Perform EKG & venipuncture

    Billing & Coding Specialist will focus on converting a medical procedure, diagnosis, or symptom into specific codes for submitting a claim for reimbursement. Students will learn:

    • Accurately locate documentation in the patient record to support coding and billing process
    • Assign codes for diagnoses and procedures
    • Submit claims for reimbursement based on payer policies and procedures

    HeartCode ACLS uses a personalized adaptive algorithm that sets students on the most efficient path to ACLS mastery. Students follow a continuously adapting learning path that is personalized by their own inputs: their performance and their self- reported confidence level related to each probe. The course content is presented in the form of self-directed learning content, probes, and Cognitive Assessment Activities.

    After completing the online portion, students will attend a structured, Instructor-led hands-on session that focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team dynamics training, megacode cases, discussions of local protocols and skills testing. Where available, students may also complete the hands-on session with a HeartCode compatible manikin.

    HeartCode ACLS is the AHA’s ACLS blended learning delivery method. Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on skills session.

    The ACLS Instructor-led course teaches the importance of preventing cardiac arrest, high-performance teams, early and continuous high-quality CPR, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, post-cardiac arrest care, acute dysrhythmias, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS).

    Topics include:

    • Airway management
    • Adult Basic life support and AED use
    • Management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and stroke
    • Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia and tachycardia
    • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
    • Management of post cardiac arrest
    • Related pharmacology

     

    Advanced cardiac life support, advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) refers to a set of clinical guidelines for the urgent and emergent treatment of life-threatening cardiovascular conditions that will cause or have caused cardiac arrest, using advanced medical procedures, medications, and techniques.


    Recognize and initiate early management of peri-arrest conditions that may result in cardiac arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome. Demonstrate proficiency in providing Basic Life Support care, including prioritizing chest compressions and integrating AED use.

    This 3 hour course is designed to review the material needed to successfully pass the NHA or AAMA Certified Medical Assistant National Exam. The students will be provided with study material covering the following topics:

    • Anatomy & Physiology
    • Medical Terminology
    • Law & Ethics
    • Front office 
    • Billing and Coding (Basic)
    • Medical Specialities
    • Radiolgy
    • Phlebotomy
    • Pharmacology

    After completion of the class, students will be provided with a practice test.

    This 2–3-hour course will provide current or expired Medical Assistants with basic skills for any specialty. The course is designed to teach injections, verify prescriptions, vital signs, SOAP documentation, discharge instructions, and verifying insurance, etc. 
    Requirements:
    • Current or expired license that is not more than 3 years (Proof of documentation)
    • Student must have have been eligible to take an exam with NHA or AAMA

    All adults who provide care for infants 12 months or younger are required to be trained in Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) risk reduction practices. The Infant/Toddler Safe Sleep and SIDS Risk Reduction in Child Care (ITS-SIDS) is the approved training. It prepares child care providers to follow their facility’s safe sleep policy. 

    The class can be conducted online or in-person. 

    This 6-week program will dig deep into your dreams of wanting to be an entrepreneurs from beginning to end. In this course students will walk away with a blude print to execute their game plan.

    Medical Office Administration teaches administrative duties performed in a Medical Office, Hospital, or Clinic:

    Students will learn the following task:

    • Greeting and assisting patients
    • Checking patients in and out
    • Scheduling appointments
    • Creating and maintaining patient records
    • Transcribing physicians orders and diagnostic comments
    • Billing insurance provider and patients
    • Collecting and recording payments

    THE ENTIRE PROGRAM IS VIRTUAL VIA ZOOM!

     

    Nurse Aide I will focus on basic nursing skills, personal care skills, and interpersonal skils. Students will learn how to provide patient care in a variety of settings such as:

    • Assisted Living

    HeartCode® PALS Part 1 is a web-based, self-directed program that teaches healthcare providers knowledge and skills needed to recognize and prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children.

    PALS uses a personalized adaptive algorithm that sets students on the most efficient path to PALS mastery. Students follow a continuously adapting learning path that is personalized by their own inputs: their performance and their self- reported confidence level related to each probe. The course content is presented in the form of self-directed learning content, probes, and Cognitive Assessment Activities. The student has a choice of completing a pre-hospital or in-hospital contextualized track. After completing the online portion, students will attend a structured, Instructor-led hands-on session that focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols and skills testing.     The PALS Provider Course is designed to prepare participants to identify and treat cardiopulmonary arrest and common conditions that may lead to cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children.

    The PALS Provider Course aims to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by preparing healthcare providers to effectively recognize and intervene in patients with respiratory emergencies, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest by using high‐performance team dynamics and high‐quality individual skills.
